    Description

Cantaloupe 'Honeydew' (Cucumis melo var. inodorus) is a classic open-pollinated heirloom melon celebrated for its sweet, refreshing taste and smooth rind. Producing sprawling, vigorous vines 6 to 8 feet long, it yields round to slightly oval fruits weighing 4 to 6 pounds. The smooth, unnetted rind transitions from pale green to a warm ivory-cream color at peak maturity. Slicing open the thick shell reveals thick, succulent, pale green flesh with a high sugar content and a light, floral aroma. Excellent for fresh summer snacks, fruit salads, cold desserts, and breakfast platters, Honeydew remains a staple for home gardens.
