Description
Cucumber 'Long Green' (Cucumis sativus), often known as Improved Long Green, is a classic open-pollinated heirloom slicer grown in home gardens since the 1870s. Growing on productive, sprawling vines 5 to 6 feet long, it produces straight, cylindrical fruits measuring 10 to 12 inches in length. The deep green skin features light ribbing and fine black spines, protecting firm, crisp, pale white flesh with a clean, refreshing flavor. Excellent for fresh summer salads, slicing platters, and cold beverages, young fruits can also be harvested early for spear pickling.

Vegetable garden beds, raised beds with trellises, garden fences, large patio containers with vertical support
