    Description

Radish 'China Rose' (Raphanus sativus var. longipinnatus), introduced to Europe by Jesuit missionaries in the 1850s, is one of the oldest open-pollinated Chinese winter heirloom radishes. Highly valued for its distinct rose-pink coloration, cold hardiness, and crisp texture, it produces long, cylindrical roots measuring 5 to 7 inches in length. The smooth, rose-red skin covers firm, juicy, solid white flesh that delivers a mild, pleasant sweetness with a balanced peppery bite. Exceptional for late summer planting, China Rose holds extremely well in the ground during cool autumn weather, providing an abundant supply of fresh roots for winter storage, roasting, pickling, or crisp salad slices.
