Description
Sunflower Black Oil (Helianthus annuus) is a highly productive heirloom variety famous for its solid black seeds, which are packed with nutritious oils and dense protein. Growing on sturdy, towering 6- to 8-foot stalks, it yields large, classic yellow-petaled flower heads with prominent dark central disks. Exceptionally easy to cultivate and heat-tolerant, this versatile variety is widely grown to attract wild birds to the garden, produce homemade press oil, provide nutritious microgreens, or serve as a dramatic living screen and pollinator landmark.
