Description
Tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum) is a historic, broad-leafed heirloom variety celebrated for its grand architectural presence, striking trumpet-shaped flowers, and rich cultural heritage. Growing into bold, upright plants reaching 5 to 7 feet in height, it features massive, velvety green leaves that can stretch over 2 feet long. In mid-to-late summer, it produces delicate clusters of fragrant, tubular pink-to-rose blooms that attract hummingbirds, sphinx moths, and beneficial pollinators. Historically cultivated for curing and pipe tobacco, it is equally prized in modern home gardens as a dramatic focal plant, a natural pest-deterrent border, and a classic heirloom botanical.
