Description
Toma Verde Tomatillo (Physalis philadelphica) is a classic Mexican heirloom prized for its heavy yields of early-maturing, tart-sweet green fruits wrapped in papery husks. Producing flat-round fruits that fill out their protective husks when ready for harvest, it delivers a bright, citrusy, complex flavor essential for authentic salsa verde, enchilada sauces, gazpacho, and Mexican preserves. Highly productive and resilient, the bushy branching plants set fruit reliably throughout summer and thrive in warm garden conditions.
